About David M. Cabreré
With a career spanning more than two decades, David M. Cabreré offers clients steady guidance, strategic insight, and results-oriented advocacy across a wide spectrum of civil and corporate legal matters. His background includes significant litigation experience in both large and small law firm settings, as well as service as in-house counsel for a major entertainment company and an insurance carrier. This mix of trial skill, business perspective, and corporate advisory work allows him to understand and address client needs from every angle.
Mr. Cabreré has represented individuals, families, and businesses in disputes involving contracts, real estate, zoning, negligence, products liability, employment issues, ADA compliance, and consumer protection claims. He has tried cases to verdict, handled arbitrations and mediations, and resolved numerous matters through strategic negotiation—often securing multimillion-dollar settlements for industrial clients, manufacturers, and commercial entities whose operations were disrupted by equipment failures or other large-scale losses.
Before entering private practice full time, Mr. Cabreré served as a Litigation Case Manager for CUNA Mutual Group, where he oversaw high-exposure claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, fiduciary duties, and federal lending laws. He also defended automotive manufacturers, construction firms, architects, and insurance policyholders in complex litigation throughout Illinois and the Midwest. Earlier in his career, he acted as a Production Attorney/Legal Advisor for a division of Warner Bros. Television, advising on employment matters, copyright and trademark issues, and risk management for a nationally recognized television program.
Mr. Cabreré earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law, where he was honored for his advocacy skills as a regional champion and national semi-finalist in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition. He completed his undergraduate studies in political science at the University of California, Los Angeles.
